After 18 months as a member of the ESSA/ECB.S Battery Safe working group, Phoenix played a key role in helping to develop the world’s first test standard for safely charging and storing Lithium-Ion Batteries. This groundbreaking standard, VDMA 24994:2024-08, was finalised in August 2024. Building on this milestone, by May 2025, Phoenix had successfully developed the BS1940 Series Battery Commander Pro Series of safes and achieved certification, fully compliant with the new VDMA 24994 standard.
